Ever feel like a certain book that just speaks to you?

We're contemplating another cross country drive and on my latest late night Target run, I saw this title and I couldn't resist! I'll wait to break it out until were tucked away in our row of seats high up in the air.  Of course it will be with 2 children who are behaving so well, being so charming, and hopefully sleeping away! :)

Speaking of our trip I've been on a roll... kid backpacks done, crayon rolls done, snack bags done, patches sewn onto Ty's uniforms, shopping done, notebook covers almost done, and packing almost done! We'll see what else I can cram into the next 2 days. :) Wish me luck!

I'm leaving on a jet plane...

Hooray! We just booked last minute tickets back to Washington for the month of June and it's official...

"last minute-cram-everything-I-can-imagine-in" time is in full swing!

I love it (we'll see how long that will last!) I'm so productive when I have to be! I've got a whole list of projects going, I'll try to get them posted over on my crafty site before I leave, or more realistically I'll at least take pics so I can post them later.  Good times!

So I will see most of you SOON! :)

And until then I have a permanent date with my trusty ol' Brother!

We heart Laila!

Lis and Bobby were kind enough to get an awesome toy for Micah and Hallie.  We love her and hope that we don't scare her too bad!
Hallie treats her like a baby and sweet talks her. DISCLAIMER: These following pictures may or may not be posed :)
Really we just upped the cute level a little by adding the blanket and telling her to give Laila a kiss.  :)

It's all about Micah!

Love this kid.
He's a particular one, that's for sure.
He likes things to be just how he wants them to be and gets easily frustrated if they are not.
He loves his trains, cars, tractors, and wheels.
He has such a sensitive soul and loves to cuddle with stuffed animals "babies" and loves to be cuddled.
He hates it when anyone (especially Hallie) tries to play with any of "his" toys and let's everyone know but letting out a loud scream and throwing a gigantic fit.
He loves to tackle Hallie and every time before naps and going to sleep he "gives her a hug" which means he pretty much tackles her and then lays his head in her lap.
He is quite the chatterbox, especially when you are one-on-one with him or going for a walk... he talks the entire time.
He loves raisins, milk, gold fish crackers, and pb&j sandwiches and would eat these all day everyday if we would let him.
He loves to play outside, go for walks, bike rides, go to the store, specifically target. :)
Obviously, we love this kid. And despite how frustrating he may be at times, he cracks me up all the time. We wouldn't trade him for the world!

He finally decided it was ok to ride the red trike instead of the pink strawberry shortcake trike.  But he's not totally convinced.  He won't sit on the seat or use the pedals, he pushes himself around the yard like this...

Herndon Truck Days

The town of Herndon puts on a great kids activity called "Herndon Truck Days."  It's a great event where they set up some of there big equipment and for a donation of non-pershible food items, kids can come and climb all over them (and when I say all over, I mean all over... there were parents letting their kids walk on top of garbage trucks, tractors, etc!!! Yikes!), play inside of them and have all kinds of fun.  They went above and beyond and had hats, coloring books, snacks, and juice for all of the kids. We all loved it minus a few rude mommies and mean kids it was a great time! We will definitely make sure to go earlier next year to miss some of the crowds and lines!

Just what the doctor ordered!

A Road Trip!

We decided to drive down to Virginia Beach this weekend and play in the Ocean.  It ended up being quite the drive, but Tyson and I were both itchin' for a road trip.  Took us about 4 hours to get there and just over 3 to get back.  We hit all kinds of random slow-downs on the way there, but thankfully on the way home we had smooth sailing!

The kids had tons of fun, Hallie loved walking in the water and would squeal in delight when a wave hit her! She couldn't have been happier- swimming in the water AND all the sand she get could her hands or mouth on!

Micah had a blast as well, he ran all around the beach telling anyone who would listen about the ocean and the water.  He wasn't so hip on the cold water and didn't want much to do with it.  He preferred to drive McQueen around on the sand, but did get his hands dirty towards the end, in fact he even went so far as to lay down in the sand and rub the sand around his tummy calling it "lotion." These kids never cease to make me laugh... I love it!

Tyson got his run in on the beach and I enjoyed the sights and just being outside in the sun! Micah and Hallie even pleasured me (and the rest of the beach-goers) by running around and around holding hands- I'm pretty sure it was one of the cutest things I've seen in along time! But just to "keep it real" (that's for you Jen!) the several laps of hand holding ended in Hallie wanting to hold hands a different way and both of them freaking out because... well because they're 2 and they missed their naps! All in all it was great day! We had a great time and hope we get to spend more time in that region!

We've Been Out Playing...

We've been out playing with our new toy! We all love it! And love the fact that we live a couple blocks away from a great trail! No packing up everything and everyone in the car, just grab the bikes and go... it's great!
