Fun canvas project

In the mayhem of garage sale week and the tail end of declutter summer, I found some time to decompress after seeing this super cute idea at a scrapbook store in bham (which is totally my new fav! too bad I don't live there- oh wait doesn't it rain a lot there? maybe it's a good thing!) anyway I totally had to scraplift this one so here's my version...

Tania's Baby shower Part 2: Gifts

I found some journals at Michael's on clearance for .50 so I decided to cover them. I took the spiral binding out of the journal covered using a handy dandy glue stick and scrapbook paper. I after covering I used my Crop-a-dile Big Bite (LOVE this tool!!)to punch the holes through the paper for the spiral binding to go back through and decorated it using the scallop punch and warm words stamp set from stampin' up. I made 4 (i think) coordinating cards to match the journal, included envelopes and puff a cute inexpensive shower game prize!

Favors

Jamie put together these cute favors by covering small pieces of candy with pink scrapbook paper, stacking 2 of them together and tying them with a cute piece of pink ribbon. Simple and adorable!

Candles
I bought plain white pillar candles and embellished them by "stamping" on the candles. Actually you stamp whatever image you want on to coordinating tissue paper (i used white). Cut out the design you want to place on your candle, attach it to candle using a glue stick (just enough to make sure it doesn't move around) and break out your handy dandy heat gun and melt the tissue paper to the wax. When melting the tissue paper to the wax you have to be really careful to not deform the candle by letting it get too hot. It takes patience and a few practice tries. I finished the candles off by tying 2 pieces of ribbon around them and wrapping them in cellophane.

"A peak into our week"

So this will be a long post, but I feel like I need to record last week or i'll feel like it never could have happened! It was so nuts!

For starters my totally awesome husband worked 16 hour days every day last week (what a trooper!) and if he wasn't working, he was in class, or on a rare occasion sleeping! so as you can imagine, it was a little busy for me too, since he wasn't around to help out. The babies were soooo kind to me on monday, i ended up putting the finishing touches on some scrappin' stuff for a contest- which i didn't get pickeed for :( and get pics of them printed at costco. the babies were SO good, which was nice cause i was stressin!

so tue while ty was working hard, the babies and i went to our MOPS group which was lots of fun, we made these cute birthday plates and i had some wonderful help with some cranky babies- those mom's can get a little noisy :-) following MOPS we raced to get my entries in the mail and off they were! we came home and had a great visit from Alisa and Erin and had just enough time to get ready for our evening out... i braved the new this week and left the babies with someone other then family! thanks to Susan and Emily (who were absolutely great in dealing with my newly finicky eaters!), i was able to enjoy my monthly stampin' up group- we did some super cute valentine projects, which i'm sure many of you will get "knock-offs" of in the future!

wed with ty still working hard, Hallie and Micah spent the evening with G&G Stoddard while I celebrated my dad's birthday with the folks at a Christian Comedian (so refreshing to have a good clean laugh!) you should check him out he's pretty funny- here's a link to his blog... http://www.lightenup.typepad.com/ so following this i made a quick trip to prosser to pick the babies up and rushed back home to get there before home before ty so he could see the babies before they went to sleep.

thursday, ty still working, i was able to clean the entire house (which is a mess again already!) and make some valentine's snickerdoodles for ty and our coworkers, we dropped them off and in exchange i got some delicious "magic bars!" Scream yeah for magic bars- they are magically delicious! other then that, hallie seriously slept most of the day away while micah was busy discovering how to grab a toy and bring it to his mouth and sitting up! yes he did it- while kind-of i had them propped on a pillow to feed them and pop! up came Micah! it was quite shocking and he has been working hard ever since then to make it happen again!

friday my mom came down and we had a fun short evening out- we ate at nothing but noodles, fed 2 babies, and went shopping at good-ol' michaels and craft warehouse, i am trying to make these cute hairbands i saw on another baby- i'm so not into the bows and lace so hadn't really been putting hairbands on hallie, but i saw one like the brown one and fell in love. so now i'm gonna try to make a few extra bucks by selling them, let me know what you think about them, i would love any and all feedback (good and bad)!

sat with tyson STILL working- we ran some errands, bought me a new cell phone (hopefully this one lasts the last one only made it 1 1/2 months!) hit a baby shower, and rushed out to prosser to see my aunt sue and uncle rich from the westside. we had a fun evening at my parents, well i had fun at least, not so sure about everyone else... i annihilated them at a game of golf (pure luck or sympathy from the others- not quite sure which one!)

all i have to say is THANK GOODNESS for Sunday! God sure knew what he was doing when he made that a day of rest!!! we all greatly enjoyed it! if it hadn't been for church i don't think any of us would have got out of bed! but we were glad we did cause we had a fun time with the moses nieces out in prosser!
