Fourth of July Camping Trip

To celebrate Independence Day we camped with my sisters for the long weekend.  We went to Salmon La Sac outside of Cle Elum where we camped several times as a family growing up.  It was fun to go back and reminisce and we couldn't have asked for better weather. It was perfect!

The pictures are in random order and there are a lot of them so bear with me.

One of our favorite things to do while camping is to explore forest roads and old logging roads. This particular drive is one we won't forget, we had our first ever flat tire while out exploring.  Thankfully we were able to find a flat piece of ground which just happened to be at a gorgeous outlook overlooking one of the lakes in the area.  Camera fail.  No picture of the view.  Only of the tire and the kids who slept through the entire ordeal.  Worn out!  On our way back to the campsite we were stopped by a man wondering if we had seen a male walking along the river anywhere. This man and gone rafting with a friend and their raft capsized.  We drove around a bit trying to help out, but sadly rescuers found his friend in the river the next morning.  A HUGE reminder to be safe in and around water, be aware of waters effected by flooding and to ALWAYS wear a life jacket.  The man whom we met and who survived was wearing a life jacket, where his friend who was not, did not survive. So please be smart. :) But enough of that downer.  Enjoy the cute kids.

We spent the afternoons exploring and relaxing by the river.
This log looked just like an alligator.

Haha! Look how hunched over and miserable I look in this picture! And to think, this was actually a big improvement, I started out at pretty much a 90 degree angle.  I'm SO glad I can stand up straight right now.  Almost recovered! :)

My mom and dad came up for the day on Monday, it was fun to reminisce and explore more with them.  We wished they would have stayed a bit longer, but were glad they made it up.

They can be so cute when they want to be!

 So can they... :)
Story time by the fire- thank you ipod!

Attempted fishing and hike- failed at booth, but had a decent lunch.

One of our drives, it was gorgeous!

 Packpack, packpack, packpack, packpack...
Classic Super Troopers line, "The snozberries taste like snozberries!"  We were laughing hysterically when we caught Hallie licking the window in the tahoe. I told her to lay off those goldfish. Classic.

Seriously, could life get any better than this.  Pure luxury.  If you ask me this was an absolutely PERFECT way to spend the 4th of July.  I love our country and all of it's beauty!

MOM's Club Parade

When we moved back to Washington, I knew I needed to meet people and make friends quickly with all of the moving we had been doing.  I thankfully found a wonderful group of ladies with the Mom's Club of Yelm.  Yelm has a big celebration every year with a parade and carnival.  We were able to join in on the fun during the parade.  Hallie and I were rode in the back of a pick up, Micah rode in style in a wagon, and other children rode bikes and walked. Hallie loved waving like a princess and Micah was a crack up, chillin' the whole way. :)
