Operation Motivation by Food: Philadelphia

Thank you Philly Cheesesteak!

Way back in April after our trip to Ben's Chili Bowl and the discovery that food was the only motivator I needed to get Ty to want to go go go with me, I used it the next day to go to Philadelphia. And it did not disappoint. The sights were great, the food was great, the company was great, and the kids were great.

Rocky steps, random OLD cemeteries, cobblestone streets, and Jim's Cheesesteaks (excuse me while I wipe the slobber off my face!)

We hardly heard a peep from Micah and Hallie the entire few hours we walked around Philadelphia and the 45 minutes we waited in line for our delish cheesesteaks.

So imagine this... First soda developed by a doctor??? Crazy!
Love the architecture...
First time I've seen one of these... A miniature Brail map of the city, how cool is this!?

Unfortunately due to the spontaneity of our trip we weren't able to get timed tickets for entry into Constitutional Hall, but we were able still able to see the liberty bell.

It was a great fun trip, the kind that makes us want to come back for more :)

Haven't "seen" you for awhile! Hope all is well!

Where did you get your backpack carriers? Do you recommend them?

Fun fun! Leave it to food to motivate the guys, huh? (Okay, and truthfully it might motivate me, too)! Did you know that Costco sells some yummy cheesesteak sandwhiches? Beware...Those were my non-vegan days!

We flew into Philly for a quick weekend business trip 2 Springs ago...it was so cold, and we were ill-prepared (with a 2 month baby strapped to me by the worst baby carrier in the world, because I forgot some of the parts to my Bjorn in Kennewick!). We saw the liberty bell, but didn't get to explore beyond that. It will be fun to go back some day!

Oh, and yes, we really are closing our store. Tomorrow is the last day--we can't wait! But wait, we can...because that means the real work begins--packing up our lives/products/house/etc. We're nuts!

This is the trip that is high on my priority list, to see historical Philadelphia.

And how cool to run the Rocky steps!
