10 months squared

Hallie and Micah are 10 months old today! seriously only 2 months until they'll be a year... unfortunately a lot of the last 10 months is a complete blur, but what a great 10 months it has been! They are both so fun and it's so fun to watch their personalities continue to bloom.

They've both learned new tricks- like holding your own bottles (SCREAM YAY FOR FREEDOM), well they learned that awhile ago, cause now they're "one-handing" it, they both love to be outside, but would rather crawl on cement then the grass, and they both absolutely love to swim and take baths.

Hallie has 1 1/4 teeth now, she loves to play peek-a-bo covering her face with her silky and pulling it down with a big grin. she is a total cheeseball, squinting her eyes and giving goofy grins. she loves it when micah "chases her" even though he could care less half the time. she attacks micah frequently giving him kisses (we hope they're kisses and not bites!) pats him on the head and knocks him over. she loves to do back flips off mommy and daddy's laps and is so fun!

Micah has huge feet, is so sweet, and loves his momma. He learned peek-a-boo today, covering his eyes with his hands and arms. He loves to talk and does so with his hands, he talks constantly opening and closing his hands. He's not so impressed with his sister, he tolerates her, but cries pretty much anytime she touches him (she's kinda a bully!) He loves to "get people" in the crook of the neck like daddy does to him. He's so much fun!

our getaway gone bad

Good, fun, and relaxing weekend...

We had a blast last weekend at George and Mandy's and thanks to them we were able to go on a little date to the wedding of one of my good friends from high school. It was on a boat on Lake Couer d'Alene which was beautiful . We had a blast catching up and celebrating their marriage- they are such a cute couple.

Not so good, fun, and relaxing week...
My elaborate plans for shopping, catching up with friends, and being outdoors were totally spoiled by colds and pukes!
First- I got my mom's (or sisters) cold,
note to self: lack of sleep + stress = catching the bug- bad!!
Even with the attempted addition of airborne and mega vitamins i still got it- that NEVER happens for me! it started Sunday and it's been going strong since!

Second- On top of the world's nastiest cold, we unfortunately caught a stomach bug along with the poteet family. We pretty much got worked over a few times by the whole thing, but my poor babies got the worst of it... they're still not quite over the back end explosions. despite how much work sick babies can be they were so sweet, all they wanted to do was be held.

so... needless to say our camping trip was out of the question. so despite really wanting to go AND my amazing packing job, we came home instead :( but we did get a good hike in last on the one night we weren't all completely out of it...

Hallie fell asleep in her backpack carrier while we were on our hike, she is such a sweetie!

Olympics...

Is anyone else totally digging the Olympics? I am!!! I love them, I've been totally glued to the TV, staying up WAY too late, crying WAY too many times, getting WAY too nervous for the competitors. It's GREAT! I even sat at home this evening holding the antenna between my fingers for a clearer picture, I've been spoiled with cable at the hotel this last week! Enjoy them while they last!!!

parental advisory! may contain pesimistic material :(

i have totally been avoiding the blogging world for the last few weeks because i haven't had anything uplifting or positive to say. that is until i glanced at lis' 10 on Tuesday and saw #5 . totally hilarious if you ask me, you'll have to check it out for yourself cause i'm not going to explain it. sorry. i just don't feel like it.

so normally i'm a "see the cup half full type of person," but i just haven't been able to do that lately- i'm in a rut and it's kicking my butt...
anyway if you haven't checked out #5 , do it now so you may understand why i decided to write this post. it's my life and my journal. it totally helps me reflect and realize life ain't so bad after all. and heck, we all know life isn't perfect all the time right!?!

i know so many of you have your own struggles and go through them so gracefully and honestly most of the time i can too, but like i said i'm just not feeling it lately! tyson has been working LONG hours, my #2 wing man, my mom, has been gone on her cruise, i've felt depressed, lethargic, and ultra-irritable- just ask ty he'll probably give you an earful, he's been such a saint in putting up with my 'tude!

then to top this all off, i left this weekend and seriously within 30 minutes of returning home and unloading the car (by myself because ty is in spokane for awhile) i received a phone call from my parent's neighbor. my dad had been stuck outside for over 5 hours in the heat, which for a person with MS is extremely dangerous. he was incoherent and extremely dehydrated. so i threw everything back in the car, including the babies and rushed to prosser. by the time i got there he was feeling better, but because of the heat pretty much couldn't move on his own. we had a rough night, but made it. in the morning he looked like he was on the upside, that was until the afternoon when he got a fever (104!) and became incoherent again. i called some family friends and they were wonderful to help with the babies and getting my dad to the hospital. i stayed with him until my mom finally got home from her trip at 3:30am. he came home today and is feeling better after being treated for dehydration and a uti.
needless to say, i have had an extremely emotionally and physically draining week, plus operating on a few restless hours of sleep each night. (i'm starting to remember what i felt like 10 months ago!!) the babies (and me!) were so ready to get home! we have a busy few weeks ahead of us and very little time to prepare!
so hopefully the drama is over for me, i could use some good times and maybe a little more sleep to see my glass half full again. wish me luck and hopefully i can get back on track for my "perfect life" :)
i managed to snap a few shots over the weekend so enjoy...

oh the things i stress over...

I'm finally getting around to decorating Micah and Hallie's room, a little late, but they didn't have a room until a few months ago and i need some help! so let me lay it out for ya...
The background info:
I would just take a picture, but their both sleeping :) I'm going with a beach/fishy theme, the walls are painted a light pale green, curtains are a cocoa brown (they match the brown on the first bedding set), and here's their bedding sets.

The goods:
So making do with what we have already this all stays (even though i would love to have another migi set, just too much $$$), i have a few sand dollars, about 6 star fish, 2 ikea shelves, and 2 rustic (barnish looking wood) 11x14 picture frames. I was thinking of using the sand dollars and star fish on the shelves along with their names in wooden letters, one shelf per kid :) I am also planning on making a giant turtle bean bag.
The dilemma:

But then there's the frames, i have a couple ideas, but can't decide what to do... 1. a pastel fish in each (childlike drawing with pastels) 2. a beach scene using pastels OR 3. i could go scrapbooking style and use paper to make fish or a beach!?! 4. or their names or a quote of some kind or or or or!!! I'm stumped!?! what do you think? anyone have any cute ideas?

and as a bonus for being a trooper and making it through all of this nonsense- here's a couple pics :)
yes she is sucking on a lemon...
