"Tyson's pants!"

We broke out the shorts this week...

After I put these shorts on Micah a huge smile crept across his face and he said while pointing to the shorts... "Tyson's pants!"

Garbage Truck Fun

Just as it does most likely at your house the garbage truck (well actually it's the recycling truck, but to a 2 year old it's the same thing!), comes every week.  Well it's big excitement at our house when it does, Micah and Hallie run to look out the front window where they are greeted with lot's of action and 3 friendly workers who always honk the horn and wave excitedly at their audience.  We love it!

If you look closely you can see him waving out the window of the truck.

Fire Station Fun

We loved our visit to to the local fire station with our play group, both kids chickened out and wouldn't walk through the fire truck, but sat in the driver's seat for approximately 15 seconds before pretty much leaping out of the truck into my arms... it was pretty cute. :) They loved the lights, and thought the firemen were pretty cool.  Hallie kept saying "Gramma and Santa" reliving our last fire truck visit.  I can't wait until they can hear all about Papa's fire stories... it'll be great fun.

Totes, totes, totes

After getting rid of everything we own besides what would fit in a 10x10 storage unit and the Tahoe (oh how I miss my baby!) we are finally emerging from a sea of totes!

We've still got a long ways to go, but it feels Oh-so-good!

All kinds of goodness

I know I bring this topic up frequently (at least when I'm actually blogging I do) but I often find myself questioning why I bother trying to go anywhere with Phil and Lil by my lonesome.  Don't get me wrong, there are times where everything goes beautifully, when the entertain each other, say "thanks so much, have a nice day," and where we don't leave with one child screaming tucked under one arm and the other being dragged as quickly as they will walk out to the car.  (Yup that's right we're done with Storytime for a few weeks, the last 2 have ended badly!)

With all of that being said, it's days like Friday when despite a couple near meltdowns I am glad I braved it!

Check out this rainbow of goodness...

And in case you doubted my rainbow of goodness or thought I paid full price (ha!) for this rainbow of goodness...

Yup that's a total of $4 for this rainbow of goodness!

And it doesn't stop there...

I almost leaped for joy when I saw this beauty hanging from the rack at Unique, my new favorite thrift store everIn fact I probably would have if I hadn't been too busy trying to explain to M&H that we couldn't ride the bikes that instant. It had the beautiful price tag of $14.99.  Seriously love you Unique.

I instantly knew that Micah would soon be rocking the red Radio Flyer tassels and all.

Come the end of naptime and a good cleaning, Micah, had other ideas...

He seemed to think the pink Strawberry Shortcake trike, which I discovered hanging right next to the Radio Flyer, was a much better fit.  And despite our best attempts is still snubbing the beautiful red Radio Flyer.

Now we're just waiting for a little sunshine love so we can hit the pavement with these beauties!

Finger Painting

I'm going to preface this post by saying, this is only the second time my children have ever fingerpainted.  I love the thought of doing all things artsy with the kiddos, but the idea of fingerpainting scared the you know what out of me!

Irrational fear? Yes.  But still, appease me... the thought of 2 toddlers chasing after me with paint all over their hands, or more realistically me chasing after 2 toddlers with paint all over their hands trying to keep them from touching our white rental walls and light colored rental carpet, and unless we were all going to walk around in our birthday suits how was I going to protect our precious clothing?! (and I say 'our' precious clothing, because really when is the last time that I actually bought a clothing item for myself? In fact I am now the scrub of the fam, the hubby now has a bigger/nicer wardrobe than I do, and my children... it's so much easier to by cute clothes for them!) Anyway like I said, a completely irrational fear, but we've all got a little bit of that somewhere right?!

With all that said, I finally braved it for the second time and was quite happy I did.  The first time Micah wanted nothing to do with that stuff on his fingers, but this time he happily dove in and enjoyed himself.  Hallie loved it just as she did the first time, and even branched out a little from her paper creations.  All and all it wasn't bad, we all enjoyed ourselves and clean up was pretty smooth with a run to the bathtub.  I think I am slowly overcoming this irrational fear! :)

And finally... Finger Painting Gone Wild...
