Before bedtime the other night Tyson was talking with Micah and Hallie and he mentioned something about how they were in my tummy before they were born.  Ever since, Hallie has randomly been making comments about being in my tummy and like the above me being in her tummy.  Funny girl!

Palm Desert with the DeVries Bunch

Every year my mom and her siblings all get together in Palm Desert for a week of fun and sun.  We were able to join this year along with some of the other cousins.  It was a blast and crazy as usual, we truly have a blast with our family! I was a bit of a slacker in taking pictures the first couple days, but really how many pictures of a pool can you take!?  

We really didn't do much, the kids and I spent probably 6 hours in the pool every day, Tyson napped with the kids every day, we went to the COD (big flea market), Tyson golfed, we went out to dinner with cousins, and we laughed and laughed and laughed! It was great!

Olivia and Hallie (2nd Cousins).  Olivia was adorable and they were just starting to have a great time before we left.  They became shoe buddies and switched shoes daily. :)

Poor Micah needs some more boy cousins!!

There were several places that everyone stayed.  A family friend's house (where the Palm Desert tradition began), another rental house (where we stayed), aunt's house, aunt and uncle's house, and hotel.  Everyone congregated at the family friend's house, and in order to visit in the evenings we had the kids camp out in front of a movie so we could visit.

Have I mentioned my newest product which I just cannot seem to get photographed correctly!? No it's not a dog leash like the kids like to pretend or even a child leash like Shell tried at Disneyland... it's a sippy cup leash! (which we now know can provide much entertainment and has a variety of uses!)

Like I said, he needs some more boy cousins!

More of Hallie the Princess

Today she asks me "Can you help me, show me how to be a princess."  (i.e. she wanted help putting on her princess attire.) 

After putting her dress, slip, AND another skirt she says, "I need it bigger." Um... pretty sure this girl needs 2 full pettiskirts to get the poof she thinks is appropriate to be considered, "Princess Hallie."  (I see another project being added to my list.) :)

A few minutes later she comes into the room with the coloring tote and says, "Mom, can you open this? Princess Hallie is really sad!"

Everything you need to know to be a princess- according to Hallie

Hallie is everything princess lately.  From the moment she wakes up til the moment she goes to bed she wants to wear her princess dress dresses. And if she had her choice she wouldn't stop wearing them at bedtime. 

So down to business.

Everything you need to know to be a princess- according to Hallie...

• You must dance and twirl, but only in a very specific way and mom don't even try because you don't do it right- even if you do it exactly the same as me.
• You must have a prince and my prince must be Micah.  "Micah, will you be my prince." To which he always refuses.
• Your dress must touch the floor to be a true princess dress- and to keep your feet warm.
• You must dress in layers- many, many layers.  In fact the more the better- every item of princess attire you own- the best.
• Princesses can run and ride bikes, but if your not sure make sure to ask your mom every time if princesses do either of these activities before proceeding. 
• Your dad can be your prince, even if mom says he's taken.

So go get on with your princess self! :)

Micah's Upgrade

Before you think it's a big upgrade, it's not.  It may be a big upgrade in his eyes, but we still need to do some serious upgrading!

We moved him out of his pack and play right after we moved back to Washington and since we didn't have a bed for him we set his crib mattress on the floor to give us me time to decide what type of bed to get for him. (Bunk, toddler, twin, double- still haven't decided!) Well he refused to sleep on the mattress and would always sleep on the floor with his camo sleeping bag.  We tried and tried to get him to sleep on the mattress but he wouldn't!  So eventually we got him to sleep on the mattress, but he would always end up on the floor during the night! So around Christmas we put him on an air mattress to help him stay on a bed and sleep better.  He loves it and especially loved the addition of one of his Christmas presents...
