Let the games begin...

We are driving back... here's the rundown... no job in WA (still looking!) a potential job in VA, and military orders are done the end of November. So at this point in time, it looks like we are moving back. While somethings have settled some, MANY things are still up in the air. (like where we will live, where we will work- to name a couple) Please keep us all in your prayers as we still are trying to find the best situation for our family! Until then...

Let the games begin...

We've been tagged

I went downstairs this morning to find this on our garbage can...

The culprit... my one and only hubby.

When asked about the said white trash tagging of our garbage can, his only response was... "in case there's ever a dispute over ownership of the garbage can, we will win... at least the lid."

Guess a can of spray paint should never be left unattended in our house :)

Speaking of spray paint, this very spray paint was used to spruce up an old shelf that was decidedly removed from our LARGE (one of these days we will be fully 'dejunked'!) yard sale pile... its new life will begin soon in Micah and Hallie's room as they are getting a new reading corner for their birthday! :)

Love these kids

I can't believe they turn two in less than a week! People really aren't kidding when they say it goes fast!

Present.

As so many others, I've been seriously slacking on blogging this summer. I have no excuses, ok I have 2... not having a functional camera when pictures are really my main inspiration and simply, I just haven't made it a priority. I'm so far behind on so many things, that I've slowly been trying to catch up, and as a result haven't been blogging about current happenings. Does anyone see the vicious cycle coming????

SO before I forget, here's the present.

I'm not a huge fan of fall, it means the end of summer, it gets cold and dark. But I'm really making the effort to enjoy fall this year, and I have to admit it's been a little easier then I thought. Maybe it's partly we were restricted with Hal's cast or maybe it's the fact that I'm really trying to enjoy our time here since it may quickly come to an end. (Again, that's a completely different post, it would be SO nice to know what's next for us!)

It's going to be gorgeous here in a few weeks with all of the leaves starting to fall and change colors. And I have to admit it's much more comfortable outside now that the humidity is down!

Here's a glimpse of what I've been enjoying of late.

Waking up to deer eating in the lawn for the last 4 mornings...

The gorgeous skyline with swiftly moving clouds...

Random pictures and drives in the neighborhood...

And beautiful red barns all over...

Hallie and the GPS

Randomly somewhere along our cross country drive Hallie became afraid of our cherished GPS. She was fine with it one day and cowering in the corner of her carseat the next. So now when lil' Maggie spouts off the next direction, Hallie stops whatever she is doing and immediately cowers into her carseat. (Works great if she's screaming before a nap!) However, she's recently started this instead...

Silly girl!

Daddy's Little Helpers

We live on a hill. A very large and steep hill. We must cut the grass on this large and very steep hill. This fact was almost a deal breaker when finding a place to rent, but Ty decided he could manage with a lawn tractor... so he searched and searched and finally found one for the 'right' price. We brought home our very own Roper Lawn Tractor, which strongly reminds me of the lawn mower my grandpa used to have. I'll have to bug my mom for a picture... we had some great times on that Lawn mower, going for rides and pushing it all over my grandparents driveway. But that's another post another time.
Along with the price came a little work, we've spent many hours 'tinkering' with it. Sometimes it's worked and sometimes it hasn't. But one thing is for sure, Ty is never short on helpers :)

This tractor was a great purchase and has brought some good times to our family this summer... take for instance, the time he decided to shift gears going up the driveway and flipped it. Awesome. Besides me almost having a heart attack and thinking my hubby was knocked out with broken bones all over while I went running down the hill to see if he was ok, it was actually one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Like I said... good times. :)

Oh summer... where have you gone!?

Something strange happened... I left for most of September and came back to find the leaves falling and the weather a little chilly. I'm going to miss summer!

Playing on the deck...

Fun at the park...

Exploring and toddler 'hiking'

More fun at the park...

More exploring...

And toddler 'hiking'...

Dinner with Lis and Bobby...
Sitting on the deck trying to keep the skeeters away...

Don't worry though, we'll try to keep you around for a little while longer even if it means piling on the clothes :)
