My Lil' Sis is Married!

The main reason for our trip back to Washington last month was for Kendra's wedding, it was a fun and busy weekend and I still can't believe she's hitched! We are so happy for them and were so glad to be a part of their special day! She looked gorgeous and the reception was a blast!

They made it down the aisle! See the wagon in the background? It was our backup, but with daddy pushing them down the aisle they made it. I was a little worried when they came down the little hill to the pool area and looked up and saw there were people in the chairs and they both froze. But again with a little nudge from daddy they made it :) And thanks to the wedding planner a handful of flowers mysteriously made it onto the stairs at the end of the aisle... good times!

Baseball Game Thomson Style

We drove 2 1/2 hours one way on the Thursday eve before Shelly came to visit to watch one of the kids Tyson helped coach in basketball at Southridge, Travis 'Moose' Mattair, play baseball. He plays for the Lakeshore somebodies?? in New Jersey and had a game in Salisbury, MD which is about 30 minutes from Ocean Shores.

It was great to see him play and to see him, not only is he an outstanding athlete, but an outstanding, caring, and humble individual. And to top it all off, it was a great evening with the kids. They had a great time at the game, which made us feel a little better about dragging them so far and keeping them out so late!

September Visitor of the Month

My sister Shelly was the visitor of the month for September! She came less than a week after Tyson's family left to help me fly back to Washington with Micah and Hallie, but of course came a few days early so we could do some sightseeing over labor day weekend. Tyson was a champ and watched the kids all weekend so we could sight see at our own pace, I think there were only a couple things that we didn't get to see, but we did get a majority of the sight in and had a blast doing it :)

Mt. Vernon (again, but I don't think you can go here too many times! I love it!) We did the National Treasure Tour for and extra $5, the tour was lame, but we got to see a few extra things like the home from the river, the basement, and the ice house. Sadly there really are no tunnels under Mt. Vernon... or at least that they tell you about :)

The Maryland State Fair

Was seriously (no joke) the same size as the Benton-Franklin County Fair back in WA, but we got tickets for free so I guess it was worth the hour drive :) We did have a great time, Micah and Hallie loved the tractors, animals (except for the pigs... see picture below of Hallie trying to hide from them) AND we tried deep fried oreos for the first time. I didn't even know they existed until our drive up there when Tyson mentioned them. My life is now complete... but really, how did I not know about this great All-American delicacy??? I thankfully had some tact and stopped at the oreos, but the list went on... twinkies, snickers, peanut butter and jelly!? yikes!
