I'm going to preface this post with the fact that I just looked at the calender and realized we will be leaving in exactly 4 weeks from today. A new sense of panic and being utterly overwhelmed with the looming task of packing the house and the looming reality that we still don't know where we will end up in the next couple months$ has left me where I often find myself when I feel this way... sitting in front of the computer, procrastinating, and blogging :) You may be seeing a lot of me in the next few weeks, but most likely not since I can't procrastinate forever :(
We have been so blessed to have so many visitors over the last year. It seems as though we have had a visitor on average once a month! And it sure has helped us feel a little closer to home. The visitor's of the month for August were... Tyson's family! Robert, Jodi, Eli, and Ira came out to see us and the sights (but mainly just us... right??) We saw some of the main DC sights, but since they have been here before we were able to see some other things as well.
The guys made a trip to Gettysburg one day, and instead of torturing the kids with a long car ride, Jodi and I hung back and chose to indulge ourselves at the Amish Market instead... And we did just that, cake, pie, bread, pretzels, treats, and snacks! It was delish as always.
Robert, Jodi, Ira, and I went to Mt. Vernon early Monday morning and of course had an enjoyable time there, Tyson, Eli, and the kids met us after we had lunch with one of Bob's high school friends and we walked around the Mall, squeezed in a museum and then hit up 5 guys for dinner. Once again... delish :)
Read this sign... seriously... this guy walked 5 miles to spend the weekends with his family. Next time I complain about Ty taking so long to get home, I think I'll just keep my mouth shut :)
